Meet Our Team of Advisors

Founder Richard Horner

Rich has been serving seniors with their Investment and Medicare planning since 1991. He has been recognized as “Elkhart’s Best Financial Advisor” and “Elkhart’s Favorite Insurance Agent and Agency” many times over the past 34 years along with numerous top producer awards. Rich has built the Horner Investment and Insurance Companies to strive and provide a “Client Service First Culture”. He has trained and spoken to thousands of agents across the country on best practices and how he created a company that thrives on referrals from “Raving Fans” also known as agency clients. Rich served in the United States Marine Corps and has maintained this same discipline and dedication to serve his valued clients. Rich is happily married to his wife Jennifer of 35 years and love spending time with their dog “Luna” a St. Ber doodle-Springer Mix. They have 3 grown adult children, Zachary, Kaitlyn and Christopher, all of whom are spread out over the eastern part of the country. When Rich is not working, he enjoys spending time with Jennifer enjoying the relaxation afforded by the ocean coast of North Carolina. His other hobbies include golfing, going on long motorcycle trips and just hanging out with many of their Marine Corps friends and their families.

Kim recently joined our group in May of 2025 after having many years in various service-related careers.  She is skilled in helping people determine what will best fit their needs for the future. 

In her spare time, Kim enjoys motorcycling with her husband Tom and spending time with her 2 children and grandchildren.

Sandy has been working in the accounting and tax field for most of her career, 15 of which have been with Horner Investment Group. She is here to help you solve your tax situations.

In her free time, Sandy is a member of the Junior League of South Bend and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family including her husband, two kids, and two grandchildren.

Alissa has worked for more than two decades in the Insurance industry and nearly ten of those with Horner Investment Group. With her expertise in customer service, she is ready to greet customers, answer your phone calls, and assist you, all while making sure the office runs smoothly.

Outside of work, Alissa loves to travel with her husband Jim and spend time with her family.
